I found the cause of the bug. In debian/patches/fhs-compliance, you
change the pathname of the cfagent.hostname.log file from workdir to
/var/log, but you only do it in LoadSetuid. You also need to change
the path in SaveSetuid. These routines are in src/files_interfaces.c
around line 1320.

Although, since this file is not really a log file, I would suggest
leaving it workdir. The fix in this case is simply to remove the
change from the patch file. I have tested this and it works.

Since the bug is of your own making and the fix is trivial, can I
expect a new package sometime before squeeze is EOL?
