I just find another cd that gives the problem, inspired by one of the comments to #692200, I tried running dbus-monitor in a terminal while inserting the cd, here's the output:
signal sender=:1.39 -> dest=(null destination) serial=65 path=/org/gtk/Private/RemoteVolumeMonitor; interface=org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor; member=DriveChanged string "org.gtk.Private.GduVolumeMonitor" string "0x2582590" struct { string "0x2582590" string "CD/DVD Drive" string ". When I insert a cd that sound-juicer has no problems with, the corresponding output is: signal sender=:1.39 -> dest=(null destination) serial=85 path=/org/gtk/Private/RemoteVolumeMonitor; interface=org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor; member=DriveChanged string "org.gtk.Private.GduVolumeMonitor" string "0x2582510" struct { string "0x2582510" string "CD/DVD Drive" string ".
