By the way I tried a squeeze->wheezy upgrade in a pbuilder chroot. First created the squeeze pbuilder chroot, then installed wamerican, then dictionaries-common, then upgraded to wheezy (upgrade dictionaries-common:all 1.5.17 1.12.10). Everything worked as expected and the symlink was properly set in every step.
