Package: nmap Version: 6.00-0.2 Severity: minor Hi,
nmap package has dependency on python which looks like not needed. I think that python is only needed for zenmap frontend. Found it while trying to install nmap on embedded system. Also I can confirm that nmap works after removing python packages manually. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.6.3+ (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages nmap depends on: ii libc6 2.13-35 ii libgcc1 1:4.7.1-7 ii liblinear1 1.8+dfsg-1 ii liblua5.1-0 5.1.5-4 ii libpcap0.8 1.3.0-1 ii libpcre3 1:8.30-5 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1c-4 ii libstdc++6 4.7.1-7 ii python 2.7.3-2 nmap recommends no packages. nmap suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- WBR, Dmitry
