I had some problems now and then, but currently it works fine. However, it's a desktop card, not a laptop. > [...] >> [ 299.012] (II) NOUVEAU(0): Output LVDS-1 disconnected >> [ 299.012] (II) NOUVEAU(0): Output VGA-1 disconnected >> [ 299.012] (II) NOUVEAU(0): Output DVI-D-1 disconnected >> [ 299.012] (WW) NOUVEAU(0): Unable to find connected outputs - setting >> 1024x768 initial framebuffer That looks really bad. >> [ 3.012903] uvesafb: NVIDIA Corporation, G86 Board - NV_NB8M , Chip Rev >> , OEM: NVIDIA, VBE v3.0 > > Not sure why uvesafb is claiming the display instead of nouveaufb. I think uvesafb is only loaded if you force it to (e.g. with the video=uvesafb kernel parameter), and it's not even included in the initramfs by default. The Nouveau wiki¹ claims that handover from uvesafb to nouveaufb does not work, but maybe this information is outdated.
