Package: apt Version: 0.9.7.5 Severity: minor Hi,
apt-cache man page in the description of the "stats" command says: " Total distinct versions is the number of package versions found in the cache; this value is therefore at least equal to the number of total package names." however if I use that command on my Debian testing, I get: Total package names: 47466 (949 k) Total package structures: 47466 (2658 k) Normal packages: 36170 Pure virtual packages: 324 Single virtual packages: 4379 Mixed virtual packages: 1025 Missing: 5568 Total distinct versions: 37199 (2678 k) and as you can see the number of total distinct versions (37199) is lower than the number of total package names (47466) I hope I am not wasting your time by missing something obvious.
