Package: abcmidi Version: 20070318-2 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
I created a midi file from an abc file and when I listened to the resulting midi file I found that the guitar chord inversions were not correctly included in the midi file. In fact, the chords were all in root position. The chord inversion was ignored. I downloaded the most recent version of abcmidi from here: http://ifdo.pugmarks.com/~seymour/runabc/top.html http://ifdo.pugmarks.com/~seymour/runabc/abcMIDI-2012-10-03.zip The new version compiled easily and the chord inversions are correct in the midi file. Here is the abc notation that gave me trouble (the chird inversions are, for example, in measures 2, 3 and 4): X:50 T:Emma's Waltz C:Traditional Finnish M:3/4 L:1/8 K:Am Q:160 E Ac[||: "Am"e3fe2|"Am/G#"c2 AE Ac|"Am/G" e3fe2|"Am/F#"c2AB cA| "Dm"B3^A Bc|"E7"dE cE B2|"Am"A3B cd|"E7"eE Ac ef| "Am"e3f ed|"Am/G#"c2 AE Ac|"Am/G"e3fe2|"Am/F#"c2 AB cA|"B7"B3^A Bc| "E7"dE cE B2|"Am"A3 B A^G|[1 AE Ac ef:|[2AB cd e^g|| |:"Dm"a3 a aA|"G7"a2 gGf2|"C"e3e ef|"Am"eE d2c2| "B7"B3^A Bc|"E7"dE cE B2|"Am"A3 B cd|"A7"eE Ac e^g| "Dm"a3 a aA|"G7"aAg2 f2|"C"e3 e ef|"Am"(3efe d2 c2| "B7"B3 ^A Bc|"E7"dE cE B2|"Am"A3 B A^G|[1 AB cd e^g:|[2A3|] -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers precise-updates APT policy: (500, 'precise-updates'), (500, 'precise-security'), (500, 'precise') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-32-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages abcmidi depends on: ii libc6 2.15-0ubuntu10.2 abcmidi recommends no packages.
