The quick-start guide for calibre in version 0.9.0+dfsg-1 [1] advises
the user in section 2.5 about what programs you can use to edit
e-books. It states "If there are typos you wish to correct or layout
changes you'd like to make, you will need to use a dedicated editing
tool such as Sigil or Book Designer." Book Designer as far as I can
tell (which is hard because the website is in Russian I think) is
non-free software that isn't included in Debian.

I am making this wishlist bug because Stefano Zacchiroli is trying to
work with the FSF and the GNU project to get endorsed by the GNU
project[2]. I believe we should edit out the part where it recommends
"Book Designer" for a few reasons:

1) It isn't included in Debian
2) As far as I can tell it is proprietary.
2a) If it is in fact proprietary and this program instructs users they
should use it, this will negatively impact Debian getting a GNU
project endorsement under their guidelines[3]
3) It appears to be a Russian program and I could not find an English version.

My recommended solution. Simply change the statement to say "If there
are typos you wish to correct or layout changes you'd like to make,
you will need to use a dedicated editing tool such as Sigil." because
Sigil is free software and that is enough.

Thank you.
