In the system, how can I extract the list of the installed xfree86 packages=
and how can I tell which ones are xfree86 packages?

At this stage, I can tell you that sarge can satisfy all of the dependencie=
s as well as build-depencencies of both wine_0.0.20050830-1 and wine_0.0.20=
050930-1. The only two offending dependencies of wine_0.0.20050930-2 are l=
ibxxf86dga-dev and libxxf86vm-dev, which are X.org packages and therefore c=
onflict with the xfree86 system.

However as detailed by the critical bugs about problems with starting wine =
in Xorg (which is recently resolved), I think we really need to separate t=
he debianization of wine into two, one is for x.org and the other is for xf=
ree86, since x.org and xfree86 cannot co-exist in a system. This should al=
so be done as soon as possible (i.e. immediately and put the original wine_=
0.0.20050930-1, which is designed for xfree86, as wine-xfree86_0.0.20050930=
-1 and designate the wine_0.0.20050930-2 as wine-xorg_0.0.20050930-1) so th=
at both packages can be compiled and ran properly in the system intended.=

In future versions of wine, the build dependencies of each project should s=
tick to the development libraries of the intended system, i.e. no x.org lib=
raries for wine-xfree86 which is intended for sarge
