Same with version 0.8.6.1-1 . Instead of the gdm3 greeter, I have the console with the following message (though I do not know if this is related to the failure to show the greeter) : (process:324): GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0) I cannot get a login prompt by hitting CTRL+ALT+FX. Hitting CTRL+ALT+SUPPR restarts the computer. It shows the plymouth "restarting" screen. Reverting to plymouth 0.8.3-20 still solves the problem.
