Following the suggestion of Hubert Chan I downgraded the version of libfreetype6 and now I am able to start the GNUstep applications.

However dropping regular files produces no result even though the mouse cursor becomes green. I while ago I have reported that drag&drop in the open dialog of Zipper.app works. I suppose that I have tried this only with folders because now I am able to drop only folders in the NSOpenPanel dialog.
