I ackowledge this bug. My concerns are of breaking stuff in wheezy if the change is done.
Of course, as you suggested (and I write it here for documenting purposes), we can modify the config stuff to get both lower and upper case variables to avoid breaking stuff. Anyway, my concerns are now RC bugs for Wheezy. After we get rid of them, I can take a look at this.
