Package: lxc
Version: 0.8.0~rc1-4~bpo60+1

If I set

        lxc.cgroup.memory.limit_in_bytes = 1G

in the config file, then lxc-start complains

        lxc-start: cgroup is not mounted
        lxc-start: failed to setup the cgroups for 'vdpcl004'
        lxc-start: failed to setup the container
        lxc-start: invalid sequence number 1. expected 2
        lxc-start: failed to spawn 'vdpcl004'

lxc-checkconfig doesn't mention any problems, so how comes?
If I use the default without setting this option, then lxc
runs fine.

Kernel is linux-image-3.2.0-0.bpo.3-amd64  version  3.2.23-1~bpo60+2
