Package: python-software-properties
Version: 0.82.7.1debian1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I was recently trying some PPAs from launchpad, that do not have a
specific version for Debian suites like wheezy. In most cases they have
only a version for some Ubuntu suites.

So when I added the repository the next apt-get update run throws an
404 error that the newly added repository is no available.

In my opinion it might be better to try if the about to be added suite
is existent on the PPA and if not fetch a list of available versions to
prompt the user.

Regards,

Andre
