Package: sgt-puzzles Version: 9411-1 Severity: minor File: /usr/games/untangle
the untangle game only allows positioning nodes in the square centred to the window. nodes can be moved outside of that area while held with the mouse key (as they can be moved out of the window), but jump back to their original positions when they are dropped outside the central square. the only visual indication given to the user is that the node and the edges don't get painted outside of it. there are three possible solutions to this issue that i see, in ascending order of complexity, but also of my preference: * indicate the game area by drawing a border around it * constrain window sizes to square apect ratios (i don't know how this interacts with full-screening) * scale the points to the complete rectangle of the window. this would make the circle appear oval, but give the user the full space w/o difficult implementation * just let the user put points wherever he likes. when the window gets resized, scale the contents as necessary as the game doesn't have a concept of "scaling" as it seems to me, that would mean that by particular window resizing operations, the game can be scaled up and down. shouldn't affect gameplay, though, as topology stays the same unless someone excessively scales around until everything collapses in the point of the least significant digit. such people just cant' be helped. (ben, if you'd like me to forward such bugs to upstream upon creation, similar as you did with #685848, let me know; otherwise i'll just send them here and let you do that after review. i'm reporting them to debian and not directly upstream as there is no bug tracking system there.) -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.4-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages sgt-puzzles depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.4.0-2 ii libc6 2.13-35 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-2 ii libfontconfig1 2.9.0-7 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.26.1-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.32.3-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.10-2 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 Versions of packages sgt-puzzles recommends: ii amaya [www-browser] 10.1~pre4+dfsg.0-2 ii dillo [www-browser] 3.0.2-2 ii epiphany-browser [www-browser] 3.4.2-1+build1 ii iceweasel [www-browser] 10.0.6esr-2 ii lynx-cur [www-browser] 2.8.8dev.14-1 ii midori [www-browser] 0.4.3-1 ii netsurf [www-browser] 2.9-2 ii netsurf-gtk [www-browser] 2.9-2 ii uzbl [www-browser] 0.0.0~git.20120514-1 ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.3-8 ii yelp 3.4.2-1 sgt-puzzles suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To use raw power is to make yourself infinitely vulnerable to greater powers. -- Bene Gesserit axiom
