Package: ghex Version: 3.4.1-1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Apparently ghex can be switched between insert and overstrike edit modes either by the <INSERT> key or by an option in the [Edit] menu.
However, there is no visible indication in the main window which of these modes is active, which can cause mistakes. Most other programs indicate this with a change in the cursor, or in some other more explicit way. Suggestion: move the "Insert Mode" checkbox from the [Edit] menu to the main window, beside the already-existing "Show little endian decoding" and "Show unsigned and float as hexadecimal" checkboxes. Failing that, at least change the cursor shape. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ghex depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.10.0-3 ii libatk1.0-0 2.4.0-2 ii libc6 2.13-33 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.12.2-1 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-1 ii libgail-3-0 3.4.2-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.26.1-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.32.3-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.4.2-1 ii libgtkhex-3-0 3.4.1-1 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 ghex recommends no packages. ghex suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
