The maintainer of scim-chewing has just solved the issue, but he hasn't release it yet. I have built the package myself, could you please try this one http://alioth.debian.org/~tzhuan-guest/scim-chewing_0.3.4-3tz1_i386.deb with the latest scim and tell me it works or not? Thanks.
