Package: wine
Version: 0.0.20050930-1
Severity: normal

The current (20050930) vesrion of wine as packaged in Debian exhibits
a severe regression : Wine no longer runs a previously installed version
of MS Office. Launching Excel, for example, leads to :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ wine c/Program\ Files/Microsoft\ Office/Office/EXCEL.EXE
fixme:ver:RtlVerifyVersionInfo (0x7fa5edd8,64,6): Not all cases correctly
implemented yet
Wine exited with a successful status

On screen : a dialog box asking for installation of Excel appears. Clicking on
"Install" leads to a second dialog box asking to install from CD. Clicking
on "Cancel" terminates the program.

WinWord does not even reach the dialog box step : its splash box flashes
briefly, then the program terminates with the following on terminal :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ wine c/Program\ Files/Microsoft\ Office/Office/WINWORD.EXE
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_GetDeviceCaps (0x9c4): CAPS1 is unimplemented, will return
0fixme:ver:RtlVerifyVersionInfo (0x7fa6f8b8,64,6): Not all cases correctly
implemented yet
Wine exited with a successful status

I cant't remember this regression being reported on the mailing lists.

Sincerely,

                                        Emmanuel Charpentier
