JFTR: I've re-built the package [2], and was unable to reproduce this issue: $ dpkg-deb -I -- libhe5-hdfeos0_5.1.13.dfsg.1-3.0+is+1_amd64.deb … Depends: libc6 (>= 2.7), libhdf5-7 … $ Unfortunately, there're two more issues that affect the package. First of all, the .so library provided lacks a dependency on libgctp.so.0d (and thus the package as a whole lacks a dependency on libgctp0d), which probably means a missing -l to the linker. The second issue is that both the package currently in testing, and the one I've built myself, contain a spurious /usr/lib/*/ (sic) directory: $ dpkg -c -- libhe5-hdfeos0_5.1.13.dfsg.1-3_amd64.deb … drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2012-02-13 15:33 ./usr/lib/ drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2012-02-13 15:33 ./usr/lib/*/ drwxr-xr-x root/root 0 2012-02-13 15:33 ./usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ … $ Any ideas on the latter one?
