Package: dunst Version: 0.2.0-1 Severity: important The dunst package does not have "Provides: notification-daemon" set.
Other notification daemons like notify-osd have this set so they meet the dependency requriements of packages that check for a notification-daemon. Beacause this is not set in the dunst package dunst cannot be used to replace another notification-daemon if the user has a package that depends on notification-daemon installed. In my case the packages with that caused this were mail-notification mail-notification-evolution I encountered no problems after making my own dunst package with "Provides: notification-daemon" set. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable'), (300, 'unstable'), (200, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.4.0-4.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages dunst depends on: ii libc6 2.13-34 ii libdbus-1-3 1.6.2-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.5.0-1 ii libxdg-basedir1 1.1.1-2 ii libxft2 2.3.1-1 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.2-1 ii libxss1 1:1.2.2-1 dunst recommends no packages. dunst suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
