It, IMHO, is not the right way to do.

The question is why does preloading
libfakeroot-sysv.so fail. It does not fail the other
architectures, so I assume someone is playing tricks with
LD_LIBRARY_PATH on kFreeBSD.

It is valid behaviour.

The gpg is set-uid on kFreeBSD (see #598471),
for set-uid binaries the LD_PRELOAD have to be ignored.
