Expect a fixed package real soon (I hope today in some hours). It was being delayed by a bug in recent flyspell.el about which I was waiting for feedback from flyspell upstream. Safest bet in the meantime is to use the old flyspell-external-point-words function already shipped with emacs21.4 and xemacs21, so users should not notice any difference.
