I tried using a Microsoft font, "Calibri", and it seems that ligatures use the bold version. Other parts of text are OK. I tried to reconfigure fontconfig, I set it to 'native', 'always', 'yes'. Chromium has not this issue. In Ubuntu Firefox is OK too. I have pictures showing the problem and the Chromium output too.
