Hi, > I get that growisofs is not recommended for burning CD-R[W]
It flatly refuses: :-( /dev/sr0: media is not recognized as recordable DVD: A The growisofs runs were surely with DVD or BD. > simple solution is to remove the offending plugin from brasero plugin > directory ("install_path"/lib/brasero/plugins/ I will try that tomorrow. > You can also set priorities between plugins. I tried. Regardless whether the priority of growisofs was a higher or a lower number, it always used libburn. > If you set this key to -1 this turns off the plugin. This i did not try yet. > I still think your squeeze version of brasero is prone to the > growisofs failure others are observing. There is this report that the 50-percent-bug started with version 2.32.1 and was not present in 2.32.0. Looks like neat bi-section work. But the reporters of this bug ticket here quite surely suffer from a different problem. The youngest report of Alain Rpnpif looks much like works-with-wodim- but-not-with-libburn reports which finally turned out to be about CD SAO and CD TAO. Here it is works-with-libburn-but-not-with-libburn. Even more reason to suspect different burn parameters. Such effects only show up when drive and media are balancing on the edge of failure anyway. I will soon upload a GNU xorriso development snapshot which allows the user to choose between TAO and SAO. So we don't have to introduce cdrskin here.
