Just for clarification, this exception was added after /run had already been implemented. Neither the FHS nor the debian-policy are set in stone and e.g. the FHS eventually caught up what was implemented by the distros. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
