Package: cciss-vol-status Version: 1.09-2 Severity: normal The '-u --try-unknown-devices' options dont work with 'hpsa' devices.
If you look through the code, you will see that is_hpsa is called before the flag related to the '-u' option has any effect. I noticed this on gen8 blades. When using the older 'cciss' driver, this isnt the case. The is_hpsa function looks to see if the scsi device is HP before sending commands. Im not sure if it would be safe to allow HP commands to be sent to anything? Either way, this doesnt work as I expected and isnt mentioned in the man page. Though its hinted at. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages cciss-vol-status depends on: ii libc6 2.13-34 cciss-vol-status recommends no packages. cciss-vol-status suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
