Package: eagle
Version: 5.10.0-2
Severity: wishlist

Dear maintainers:
The version of EAGLE in the archive is 5.12.0, but upstream's latest version is
6.2,
released on 2012-04-12. [1]

[1] http://www.cadsoftusa.com/download-eagle/?language=en

They list the following system requirements:
Linux based on kernel 2.6 for Intel computers, X11 with a minimum color depth
of 8 bpp, 32-bit runtime environment with the following libraries:
libpng14.so.14, libssl.so.1.0.0, libcrypto.so.1.0.0, libjpeg.so.8.

Probably the Linux 2.6 requirement is bogus. At least I've run Debian's
EAGLE 5.12.0 with Debian's Linux 3.2 just fine on amd64.
The only odd dependancy seems to be libpng14 which is not in the archive.

Please consider packaging this newer upstream version.

PS: I know the freeze is in two days, so this will probably have to wait
until the release.

Thanks,
