Package: amd-clinfo Version: 1:12-6~beta-1 Severity: normal Tags: patch Hi,
amd-clinfo depends on amd-libopencl1. The manpage says (in the name section) that it reports fglrx OpenCL system status (the description section should probably also be improved). In fact, amd-clinfo reports OpenCL status of any ICD installed on the system (not just the AMD one) and it does this with any ICD Loader installed (not only with the AMD one). So, amd-clinfo should depends on the virtual package libopencl1 instead of the amd-libopencl1. I tested (installing amd-clinfo with --force-depends) and checked that the clinfo works and report the same information with any of these ICD Loaders: * amd-libopencl1 (in non-free) * nvidia-libopencl1 (in non-free) * ocl-icd-libopencl1 (in main) * intel-libopencl1 (in a personnal private repo: intel software is not redistribuable) The only difference is the value of "Platform ID:" but this is a address that depends on the load address of the ICD shared libraries. If this can be changed for wheezy, I would be very pleased.
