Package: qemu
Version: 1.1.0+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear maintainer,

My windows XP is running on qemu very slow, but I have solved with a strange workaround. I'll explain:

When I run qemu (with or without kvm enabled) I read a warning message on the console

Could not open option rom 'kvmvapic.bin': No such file or directory

This file (kvmvapic.bin) is located on /usr/share/seabios/optionrom/kvmvapic.bin and is part of seabios package.

I have observed who if I run my virtual machine with the option

-option-rom /usr/share/seabios/optionrom/kvmvapic.bin

The warning message persists but the VM has a running more fast!

So, I think that the optional rom kvmvapic.bin is not loaded as a default and this is a bug, am I right?
