I tried the former. I wgetted the linux-image and then tried installing it via gdebi . I get this :- $ sudo gdebi linux-image-3.2.0-2-amd64_3.2.18-1_amd64.deb [sudo] password for shirish: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...
