Also fails to start if /etc/asound.conf is configured the same way. I'm tempted to raise the severity of this bug, since setting asound.conf this way was basically the ONLY way to get pulseaudio working previously, so I imagine most people have this configured. At the very least pulseaudio needs to provide a NEWS item to inform users about this problem. As is there is very little help for users who get stuck with this broken upgrade.
