Build halted. dpkg: error processing open-vm-dkms (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 8 Errors were encountered while processing: open-vm-dkms E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) At the first glance it looks like an issue in dkms generating broken postinst code (#677382). However it could be a wrong call of dh_dkms in your rules file too. Please clarify this with the dkms maintainers. If necessary please merge both bugs.
