I found out how to register the group from dictionary-init.el, and plan to upload the fix within the next few days. Thanks for the report; sorry to keep you waiting for so long. (I'm looking into #611943 as well, but as you state there, addressing this bug should reduce its impact. BTW, please note that you could always explicitly load dictionary.el without necessarily calling any of its functions.) -- Aaron M.
