I can reproduce at least part of this bug. jed in fairly bare debootstrapped unstable chroot gives me: jed -batch -quiet -f 'vmessage("%S",_slang_install_prefix)' loading /usr/share/jed/lib/site.slc loading /usr/share/jed/lib/os.sl loading /usr/share/jed/lib/menus.slc Unable to open jed.rc. Check the value of the S-Lang load path. Traceback: evalfile /usr/share/jed/lib/site.sl:3098:command_line_hook:Open failed Local variables for command_line_hook: Integer_Type n = 3 Integer_Type i = 2 String_Type file = "-quiet" Integer_Type depth = 0 Undefined_Type next_file = Undefined_Type Undefined_Type tmp = Undefined_Type String_Type init_file = "jed.rc" Undefined_Type next_file_arg = Undefined_Type Undefined_Type hookfun = Undefined_Type Error encountered while executing command_line_hook
jed itself does start, but only in some horrible mode (brief?) that I don't know how to drive. (^Ke to get out). however if I install libslang2 2.2.4-13 on my laptop it still works OK. both of these are AMD64 machines. I will try to work out what the difference is that makes this bug reproducible. I also note http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=676038 where the build of some other package looks like it is failing for essentially the same reasons: > /usr/share/jed/lib/site.sl:1902:mode_hook:Open failed > Local variables for mode_hook: > String_Type ext = "tm" > Integer_Type n = 0 > String_Type mode = "tm_mode" > Error encountered while executing mode_hook Wookey -- Principal hats: Linaro, Emdebian, Wookware, Balloonboard, ARM http://wookware.org/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
