Package: gksu Version: 2.0.2-6 Followup-For: Bug #611343 Dear Maintainer,
I have the same problem. It started some time ago (maybe 1-2 months). I was hoping that the problem will be reported by someone else, but it looks like the focus is elsewhere atm. ;-) Currently it's not possible to start any programm via gksu. The programm simply does not terminate nor do anything. For example when I start gedit via gksu I get these processes: 1000 8843 0.0 0.0 164796 6916 pts/0 S+ 08:33 0:00 gksu gedit root 8848 0.0 0.0 159796 3584 pts/2 Ss+ 08:33 0:00 /bin/su root -c /usr/lib/libgksu/gksu-run-helper "gedit" They stay there and don't start anything or die (at least not in the 15 minutes I was looking at them) Please fix this :-) As a workaround: Start your software with sudo. This still works for me. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gksu depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.4.0-2 ii libc6 2.13-33 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-2 ii libfontconfig1 2.9.0-6 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1 ii libgconf2-4 3.2.5-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.26.1-1 ii libgksu2-0 2.0.13~pre1-6 ii libglib2.0-0 2.32.3-1 ii libgnome-keyring0 3.4.1-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.10-1 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-1 ii sudo 1.8.3p2-1.1 Versions of packages gksu recommends: ii gnome-keyring 3.4.1-4 gksu suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
