I used linux-image-3.2.0-2-486 from unstable, but had to update dpkg, local, debconf to get it to install. After reboot, I got a kernel panic: http://i.imgur.com/qSJBZ.jpg I think it might be better if I just test this 3c59x ethernet card on this laptop using a fresh install unless you have a better suggestion on making the 3.2 kernel work on this lenny laptop.
