Okay. It would be really useful if you could try downgrading to 3.8.8-7+squeeze1 (not forgetting the apache stop/start) and confirm whether you think there is any regression betweeen 3.8.8-7+squeeze1 and 3.8.8-7+squeeze4~test1 based on this latest observation.
