Package: psutils
Version: 1.17-31
Severity: important

Hello.

This bug affects both stable and unstable, in a different way.

See this procedure:

$ pdflatex small2e
$ pdftops -level3 small2e.pdf
$ head small2e.ps
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%Creator: TeX
%%LanguageLevel: 3
%%DocumentSuppliedResources: (atend)
%%DocumentMedia: plain 596 842 0 () ()
%%BoundingBox: 0 0 596 842
%%Pages: 1
%%EndComments
%%BeginDefaults
%%PageMedia: plain
$ pstops

$ pstops -b -w1000 -h1000 '1:0' small2e.ps  | head
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%Creator: TeX
%%LanguageLevel: 3
%%DocumentSuppliedResources: (atend)
%%DocumentMedia: plain 596 842 0 () ()
%%BoundingBox: 0 0 596 842
%%Pages: 1 0
%%EndComments
%%BeginDefaults
%%PageMedia: plain

I've found the bug report #632182 which claims to address this
problem. So after the backporting from wheezy
(psutils_1.17-31_i386.deb)

pstops -b -w1000 -h1000 '1:0' small2e.ps  | head
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%Creator: TeX
%%LanguageLevel: 3
%%DocumentSuppliedResources: (atend)
%%DocumentMedia: plain 596 842 0 () ()
%%BoundingBox: 0 0 596 842
%%DocumentMedia: plain 1000 1000 0 () ()
%%BoundingBox: 0 0 1000 1000
%%Pages: 1 0
%%EndComments

There is a duplicated DocumentMedia and BoundingBox

Evince and GV still report the paper dimensions set at 596x842

Best wishes.
