Package: wicd-curses Version: 1.7.2.4-2 Severity: normal I see two more (maybe related) problems with wired connections when managed with wicd-curses.
1. There seems to be no way to select a non-default wired connection profile from the curses interface. The man page (which seems to be written with the GUI interfaces in mind) talks about a "combo box". In the curses interface the wired connection line has "vvv" in it which suggests it may indeed be some kind of selection widget, but I found no way to actually activate the list widget if it is there. Certainly the "v" and "V" keys don't work that way. 2. Perhaps because of 1, in the Preferences screen, while I can select the "Prompt for wired profile on autoconnect" option, it doesn't seem to be saved into a config file or otherwise made permanent. Next time I run wicd-curses with the ethernet cable plugged in, it autoconnects with the default profile without asking, and when I revisit Preferences, that option is changed to "Use default profile on autoconnect".
