This is becoming absurd. No program I have written, or have anything to do with, prints nasty messages at a user who has the temerity to try to talk to it via stdin. Certianly nothing in moreutils behaves this way.
2 minutes in the code would show you that this has nothing to do with --tollef, as shown by this simple example % parallel --gnu parallel: Input is read from the terminal.
