I cannot manage to change the status from public to private for a newly approved project, by using /admin/groupedit.php Right after posting the form with "Public?" set to "No", the project is redisplayed as Public. The log then contains another set of "Added user" operations for it's requesting admin user, compared to before the POST. Hope this helps.
