Package: packagekit
Version: 0.7.4-2
Followup-For: Bug #662602
Dear Maintainer,
The bug, exactly as described in my report, still manifests itself
on two different computers running testing with the new version of
packageKit.
In addition, the packagekit daemon keeps holding the apt archive
lock even after the operation is cancelled:
$ sudo lsof /var/cache/apt/archives/lock
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
packageki 12758 root 51uW REG 8,2 0 1051046
/var/cache/apt/archives/lock
packageki 12758 root 53uW REG 8,2 0 1051046
/var/cache/apt/archives/lock
PK-Backen 13279 root 51u REG 8,2 0 1051046
/var/cache/apt/archives/lock
PK-Backen 13279 root 53u REG 8,2 0 1051046
/var/cache/apt/archives/lock
.... and it is holding it because a pager is still trying to show
me the message:
$ pstree -p 12758
packagekitd(12758)─┬─PK-Backend(13279)─┬─dpkg(13280)
│
└─sh(13281)───apt-listchanges(13282)───sh(14100)───sensible-pager(14101)───pager(14102)
├─{packagekitd}(12759)
├─{packagekitd}(12761)
└─{packagekitd}(13267)
The package with the note to trigger this, is ifupdown, in case
it matters.
If there's any more info I can provide, please ask.
Thanks,
Shai.
