Package: installation-reports Severity: normal Hello,
I ran a few installs using Wheezy Alpha on my machines (SunBlade 2000 and Sun T1000 server) over the last couple of days and it went mostly smoothly, see details below. 1. Machine: SunBlade 2000 Medium: netboot Console: serial Partitioning: guided, separate /home Result: ok 2. Machine: SunBlade 2000 Medium: netinst CD Console: serial Partitioning: guided, with LVM, separate /home Result: ok 3. Machine: SunBlade 2000 Medium: netinst CD Console: keyboard/screen Partitioning: guided, with LVM, separate partitions for /home, /var, /tmp, etc Result: ok 4. Machine: Sun T1000 server Medium: netboot (no other booting methods available) Console: via ethernet management port Partitioning: guided, with encrypted LVM, separate /home Result: ok Notes: one minor quirk is that during network hardware detection installer claims that required firmware is missing, and asks whether user wants to load tigon/tg3_tso.bin from removable medium. This server does not have any USB ports, so it would be rather tricky to deliver the firmware. Luckily, I found that if I just skip loading the firmware, the network works fine and install completes successfully.
