Hi, Michael. I don't think Micah was suggesting that you personally wasted anyone's time or treated anyone like a second class citizen. You were certainly helpful to me in figuring out what the issue was. I think he was just venting the same general frustration I have that these tools seemed to be designed to work only with a few particular "blessed" configurations, and that those of us that use alternative desktop environments frequently get left out in the cold. But as maintainer of this particular package it might be possible to improve the situation for us outsiders by documenting what esoteric configurations requirements there are. That would be a really good trend to start in Debian in general. When this sort of stuff ends up causing one of us to waste half a day flailing trying to figure it out why a seemingly simple tool won't work, without any indication as to why, it can create a lot of frustration that can lead to bad blood. jamie.
