Package: ddclient Version: 3.8.1-1 Severity: important Hello:
This is a follow-up of [0] in order not to unarchive it. I run squeeze on my little server and I backported the patch which appears to solve the original issue, the patch at [1]. After some testing time I found it the patch didn't fully solve the problem and I had to rely on a different method. I set the configuration like this: use=cmd, cmd=/root/checkip.sh, cmd-skip='IP Address: ' where chekip.sh script is a simple: wget -q -O - http://checkip.dyndns.org/ Still I've found another issue. When you keep the same IP for long time (1 month) you may loose your no-ip.com domain name since ddclient won't send the needed refresh commands.
