I finally decided to foward this upstream, despite the fact that it can't be reproduced on 3.6 (which might mitigate the will of upstream developers to look closer at it). However, after looking closely at the debug loc you provided a while ago and given that it can be easy to narrow down the problem as you're providing as much information as you can, I think there's a chance that this bug is identified. The upstream bug is now https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8933 You may want to subscribe to it as it might help providing more details in case upstream need them.
