Hmmmm...  "some GTK-specific input" is not very specific.  Did you check
to use "none" and have problem?

Anyway, I uploaded new wheezy version to force xim for GTK.  I may get
another request to have option to use "some GTK-specific input" as
default :-)  Can you comment on your experience.

I am not changing behaviour of im-config for stable version.
