Package: libagg-dev Version: 2.5+dfsg1-4 Severity: serious
This release creates FTBFS of other packages because /usr/lib/libagg*_pic.a does not include the PIC versions of the object file anymore. This makes it unsuitable for release. Here is some example output from exactimage: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../lib/libagg_pic.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [objdir/api/python/_ExactImage.so] Error 1 make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... /usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../lib/libagg_pic.a(agg_vcgen_contour.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../lib/libagg_pic.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [objdir/api/php/ExactImage.so] Error 1 /usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../lib/libagg_pic.a(agg_vcgen_contour.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../lib/libagg_pic.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [objdir/api/perl/ExactImage.so] Error 1 rm objdir/frontends/bardecode.o objdir/frontends/edentify.o objdir/frontends/hocr2pdf.o objdir/frontends/e2mtiff.o objdir/frontends/empty-page.o objdir/frontends/econvert.o objdir/frontends/optimize2bw.o make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/buildd/exactimage-0.8.5' make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2 --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 Debian Release: wheezy/sid 500 unstable www.debian-multimedia.org 500 unstable ftp.de.debian.org 500 testing ftp.de.debian.org 1 experimental www.debian-multimedia.org 1 experimental ftp.de.debian.org --- Package information. --- Package's Depends field is empty.
