This " ...terminated." message must be the most useless change to some core unix utility I've seen so far. When I've seen it the first time I was honestly
thinking something broke or crashed due to a signal.

Bring back the "success = no output" philosophy please.

By any chance, are you using systemd ?

On this particular system that I used for the report I'm using upstart.

But I've got a testing system using systemd, and I also get the same message.
