I'm not sure this is the installer's job. Having the right keymap in the initramfs should be the job of the utility that creates the initramfs, based on console keymap settings. I don't think the installer can (and should) really do something here. The problem is the same is users setup their console keymap to be something else than US *after the system installation*. --
